Speaker:

Hi there.

Speaker:

It's Sue.

Speaker:

And thanks for joining me for tips and talk day.

Speaker:

These are bite-sized topics that I pull from community questions and

Speaker:

things that I'm observing in the world of handmade small business.

Speaker:

If you'd like to submit a topic,

Speaker:

DME over on Instagram at gift biz,

Speaker:

unwrapped happy holidays from me to you.

Speaker:

The night before Christmas,

Speaker:

when all through the store,

Speaker:

employees were anxiously watching the door products sat neatly on the

Speaker:

shelves with care in hopes that a customer soon would be

Speaker:

there. The shopkeeper was nestled all snug in her chair while

Speaker:

she envisioned wrapping up gifts with flair,

Speaker:

the products were perfect.

Speaker:

The prices were right,

Speaker:

but would they still all be there when she locked up

Speaker:

for the night in Amanda's mind,

Speaker:

there arose such a clatter nobody's coming in.

Speaker:

What is the matter?

Speaker:

People must not like the things that I make,

Speaker:

I should have known this business was a mistake.

Speaker:

Glancing out the window,

Speaker:

seen fresh fallen,

Speaker:

snow. She watched shoppers bustling to and fro when what to

Speaker:

her wondering eyes did appear,

Speaker:

but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer with a little

Speaker:

old driver.

Speaker:

So lively and quick,

Speaker:

she knew in a moment,

Speaker:

it must be St.

Speaker:

Nick, not down through the chimney,

Speaker:

but right through the door.

Speaker:

He exclaimed,

Speaker:

whoa, whoa,

Speaker:

whoa. Let's fix up this store.

Speaker:

Look at the colors,

Speaker:

the quality,

Speaker:

the style we must spread word of your wares across miles.

Speaker:

Why didn't you tell people of the products you make?

Speaker:

I was scared that they would think me of fake your

Speaker:

talent is clear and creations unique with artistry and style that

Speaker:

so many Sikh now Dasher.

Speaker:

Now dancer now Prancer and Vixen on comet on Cupid,

Speaker:

on Donner and Blitzen to the top of the hillside.

Speaker:

All residents must know of Amanda's treasures,

Speaker:

all boxed up and bowed.

Speaker:

And then in a twinkling,

Speaker:

she heard on the roof,

Speaker:

the prancing and Pauling of each little hoof up,

Speaker:

up in a way the reindeer all flew with a message

Speaker:

of holiday gifts,

Speaker:

shiny and new within minutes,

Speaker:

it happened.

Speaker:

The door flew open wide,

Speaker:

a snowy rush of air blue customers inside excitement built up

Speaker:

as they discovered the wares.

Speaker:

1, 5,

Speaker:

7 gifts were purchased with care.

Speaker:

Was it seconds or minutes that the gifts were all sold.

Speaker:

Customers smiled while juggling packages of red,

Speaker:

green, and gold.

Speaker:

Which designs did you get?

Speaker:

Oh, I loved that one too.

Speaker:

I need to come back and get another in blue Amanda's

Speaker:

eyes. Twinkled she felt light hearted and Mary people loved her

Speaker:

creations. Even that shade of raspberry St.

Speaker:

Nick's cheeks were like roses.

Speaker:

His eyes held a twinkle success was right in front of

Speaker:

you, except for one little wrinkle.

Speaker:

You can't stay inside and be timid or meek.

Speaker:

If growing your business is something you seek.

Speaker:

Your artistry is spectacular.

Speaker:

It's much more than fine.

Speaker:

Be proud,

Speaker:

be confident.

Speaker:

It gets easier in time as the clock timed the hour

Speaker:

and the day was now through Amanda sat in amazement of

Speaker:

what she now knew.

Speaker:

Trusting her skill and being herself creates a gift of its

Speaker:

own. Like a personal elf customers will appear as they're meant

Speaker:

to be the right ones for her,

Speaker:

who would help her succeed.

Speaker:

St. Nick's eyes gave a twinkle and with a round little

Speaker:

belly, he laughed at the acknowledgement,

Speaker:

like a bowl full of jelly.

Speaker:

He spoke no more words,

Speaker:

but went straight to his work and filled all the stockings.

Speaker:

Then turned with a jerk.

Speaker:

Your presence.

Speaker:

This year are reminders for you of the dreams you've created

Speaker:

that you can make true.

Speaker:

She knew what he meant and on his cheek gave a

Speaker:

kiss. His message was clear and no point was missed inside.

Speaker:

She felt courage and anticipation.

Speaker:

Nothing would stop her.

Speaker:

Now from creation.

Speaker:

He sprang to the roof and jumped into the sleigh.

Speaker:

He'd given Amanda a priceless gift this day.

Speaker:

They exclaimed together as he drove out of sight,

Speaker:

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Speaker:

That's a wrap.

Speaker:

I'm a get to the point kind of girl.

Speaker:

And this is what you can expect from these quick midweek

Speaker:

sessions. Now it's your turn.

Speaker:

Go out and fulfill that dream of yours.

Speaker:

Share your handmade products with us.

Speaker:
