Hi there.
Speaker:It's Sue and thanks for joining me for Tips and Talk
Speaker:Day. These are bite-sized topics that I pull from community questions
Speaker:and things that I'm observing in the world of handmade small
Speaker:business. If you'd like to submit a topic,
Speaker:DM e over on Instagram at Gift Biz Unwrapped,
Speaker:Whether you're a first time listener or have been with me
Speaker:from the very beginning,
Speaker:which is getting close to eight years at this point,
Speaker:the amount of content in this podcast can be overwhelming.
Speaker:How do you find a particular episode you heard a while
Speaker:ago and now you wanna revisit,
Speaker:or what if you're after a specific topic that didn't apply
Speaker:when it first aired,
Speaker:but now makes sense to integrate into your plan?
Speaker:Or if you're just joining us,
Speaker:how do you find a past topic that was covered that
Speaker:you wanna know more about?
Speaker:I've got solutions to all of these situations,
Speaker:and actually it led me to thinking overall,
Speaker:how can you get the most out of listening to my
Speaker:podcast? Over the years,
Speaker:I've gotten a good handle on you.
Speaker:You're a creative spirit who has the gift of making things
Speaker:with your hands,
Speaker:whether it's jewelry,
Speaker:clothing, soaps,
Speaker:candles, or something wonderful to eat.
Speaker:It comes from you expertly merging the pieces together to form
Speaker:a final product.
Speaker:This is where one of your most heartfelt talents lies on
Speaker:the business side.
Speaker:You fall into a wider range.
Speaker:You may just now be letting the idea of starting your
Speaker:own business play around in your mind,
Speaker:kind of like tinkerbells wand tapping here and there,
Speaker:lighting up scenes of what it would look like and how
Speaker:it could fit into your life.
Speaker:Or you may have years of experience in a business of
Speaker:your own and wanna stay up to date,
Speaker:keep inspired,
Speaker:or identify new ideas for business growth.
Speaker:Taking all of this into account,
Speaker:here's my suggestion on how to approach listening to the show.
Speaker:Given that there are so many topics and options that you
Speaker:can cover,
Speaker:first, try and fit regular Gift Biz Unwrapped episode,
Speaker:listening into your weekly plan.
Speaker:The longer shows Air on Saturday and include a guest or
Speaker:are one of our Special Bash or Boost episodes,
Speaker:and then the midweek ones are short tips and talk single
Speaker:focused podcasts.
Speaker:Remember, you can listen to these shows at a faster speed
Speaker:to get through them quicker too.
Speaker:I find one and a quarter or even one and a
Speaker:half speed to be ideal still at a pace to pick
Speaker:up the content,
Speaker:but quicker in terms of time spent.
Speaker:It's also a super idea to double task or integrate podcast
Speaker:listening on top of a routine activity that you already do,
Speaker:like driving,
Speaker:straightening the shop or getting some exercise.
Speaker:When you build it into your routine,
Speaker:it becomes second nature to stay caught up.
Speaker:I also encourage you not to pass up certain shows because
Speaker:the guest makes something different than you do.
Speaker:Like if you make dog biscuits and my guest is a
Speaker:woodworker, many times going outside your product scope provides original ideas
Speaker:that can be applied directly or tweaked for your situation too.
Speaker:If your time is tight and you must be selective,
Speaker:watch for my weekly emails that summarize what each Saturday episode
Speaker:is about.
Speaker:That way you can make sure that you don't miss a
Speaker:show that covers a topic you really need not getting my
Speaker:emails. Sign up to join the Gift Biz Breeze Facebook group
Speaker:and provide your email there when prompted or request to be
Speaker:added by sending me a message at sue sue moon height.com.
Speaker:Okay, that's step one.
Speaker:Listen to each episode as it comes out.
Speaker:When you subscribe or follow Gift Biz Unwrapped,
Speaker:these episodes automatically download in whichever app you're using.
Speaker:That's the easiest way to not miss anything.
Speaker:After that's done,
Speaker:I have two other options for targeting in on the specific
Speaker:topics you're looking for.
Speaker:If you go to gift biz unwrapped.com/topics,
Speaker:you'll find episodes broken out by its main subject,
Speaker:whether it's business tools or website development,
Speaker:social media platform information,
Speaker:or you'd like to narrow in on a specific product industry
Speaker:and see how others got started or are growing.
Speaker:It's all broken out by category for your easy reference,
Speaker:even though multiple topics are discussed in each show,
Speaker:I assign one main single category that makes the most sense,
Speaker:so each show is only listed there.
Speaker:Once I suggest taking a look here and then writing a
Speaker:list of all the back shows that pique your interest,
Speaker:then prioritize your listening list.
Speaker:This is why I still number each episode so you can
Speaker:easily find them in the lineup.
Speaker:I only include in this Google Doc relevant shows.
Speaker:Unfortunately, there are some that were perfect years ago,
Speaker:but don't hold value or current direction for today.
Speaker:Things change so rapidly,
Speaker:don't they.
Speaker:Another way to find discussion on a topic you're interested in
Speaker:is to go to gift biz unwed.com/search.
Speaker:There you can put in a search term like SEO,
Speaker:wholesale craft shows and see all the podcasts where that topic
Speaker:is covered.
Speaker:When you click on the links in this search tool,
Speaker:you'll be taken directly to the actual part of the podcast
Speaker:talking on your search term.
Speaker:This is helpful and different from the other list because a
Speaker:topic can be talked about in a show,
Speaker:but not be the overarching theme of the episode.
Speaker:These two links,
Speaker:again are gift biz unwrap.com/topics
Speaker:and gift biz unwrap.com/search.
Speaker:Easy to remember and resource 24 7 and provide helpful content
Speaker:at your fingertips whenever you need it.
Speaker:That's the goal of this show,
Speaker:to be your valued resource for all things handmade biz related.
Speaker:You are an important part of my cherished community of gifters,
Speaker:bakers, crafters and makers,
Speaker:and it is my honor and pleasure to continue bringing you
Speaker:this podcast.
Speaker:Bye for now.
Speaker:That's a wrap.
Speaker:I'm a get to the point kind of girl,
Speaker:and this is what you can expect from these quick midweek
Speaker:sessions. Now it's your turn.
Speaker:Go out and fulfill that dream of yours.
Speaker:Share your handmade products with us.
Speaker:We want them,
